This plague was important. Yes it had killed millions of people in its day but without it, we wouldn't have the knowledge of how to stay healthy.
I think this is important as the first attempts to force public health happen due to this plague.
We basically learned that "Hey we should try to be a bit more aware of diseases and what being healthy means".
