1588 Raleigh went
on many expeditions
across the Atlantic. He
also made a colony near
Roanoke, which is now
North Carolina, which
he tried to name Virginia
in honor of Queen Elizabeth.
However, Indians forced
some of the Colonists to
return to England with
Potatoes and Tobacco,
which was unknown
at the time.
