The British taxed the tea and was made to reduce
the large amount of tea held by the British east
india company to oppose their debt .“ It gave
the company nearly total control of the market for tea
in the colonies". “Colonial merchants called for a new boycott.”
That removed some of the taxes on tea, but not all of them. But then the colonists
