dec 30, 1775 - Declaratory Act 1776 The act was meant to declare that the British parliaments had the same authority just like in Great Britain as in America. As a result, the colonists ignored the act and the British parliament got frustrated. The parliament relized that they don't have power over the colonists. The British just wanted to afirm their power over the colonists.
