jul 3, 2018 - Had an avocado at breakfast
Description:
I, among other Canadians, am able to diversify my diet due to globalization to incorporate foods that cannot thrive in Canada. Though it was beneficial I had a Mexican avocado to complement my breakfast, there may exist a social cost in addition to the monetary cost of purchasing avocados. It is not uncommon for drug cartels in Mexico to attain additional sources of money by exploiting farmers or by growing their own yield to sell to middlemen that supply supermarkets. By buying the avocados, drug cartels are kept in power in regional areas where violent crimes can continue to persist.
