The Diet (official assembly) of Worms (city in west Germany) in 1495 was an imperial assembly under Maximilian I that outlawed private feuds (fights) through the Eternal Peace (imperial law) and created new legal institutions to bring order and stability to the Holy Roman Empire. Note, The Diet of Worms is like the State of the Union — it’s a recurring type of assembly, so there can be many of them.
