Description:
A cause of the Election of 1860 was Conflict over slavery after the Kansas-Nebraska Act, Bleeding Kansas, and the Dred Scott desicion. Another cause was the Democratic party division and Abraham Lincolns Republican party opposing over the expansion of slavery. Some Effects of the Election of 1860 are Lincoln won without southern electoral votes, so southern states think they lost political power. Another effect is Southern Secession which led to the civil war.
