While one of the greatest political and humanitarian catastrophes in history, which resulted in the deaths of 30-50 million people, it does not fall under the definition of Genocide, as there was no genocidal intent on the part of the CPC against its population and there was no deliberate intent at causing a famine, such as in the case of the Holomodor.
