jan 1, 1992 - "Formosa," the first Chinese-language Multi-User Dungeon (MUD), went online.

Description:

"Formosa," the first Chinese-language Multi-User Dungeon (MUD), was created by Zhang Yinghao, a mechanical engineering student at National Central University in Taiwan. It was built using SillyMUD, a derivative of DikuMUD. The game marked the beginning of Chinese-language online multiplayer role-playing and helped lay the foundation for early text-based virtual communities in the Chinese-speaking world.
