Description:

Following precedent of earlier hydrology projects on Native land, federal gov constructs Kinzua Dam on Allegheny River, PA. Dam floods 10,000 acres of Seneca land, including a burial ground. Iroquois contested land seizure in federal courts, but SC ruled that the Federal Power Commission could apply eminent domain to reservation lands in exchange for just compensation.
