War to overthrow King James II

Causes:
The King's elevation of Catholicism, his close relationship with France, his conflict with Parliament, and uncertainty over who would succeed James on the throne

Effects:
Shared power between the Crown and Parliament is established as James II is overthrown.
The Dominion of New England is dissolved. It combined all of the New England colonies into one single colony to be ruled as one entity. King James II created it in order to assert dominance over New England and undermine the power of the church.
