The Battle of the Bulge (16 dic 1944 año – 25 ene 1945 año)
Descripción:
The Germans made a last effort to be on the offensive by taking port city Antwerp, Belgium. This split the Allied forces in two. It would be Germany's last offensive move in Western Europe. Sensing weakness the Germans pushed the Allied forces back towards the Ardennes Forest, this created a 60 mile bulge in the center of the Allied lines, hence the name "The Battle of the Bulge". In the upcoming months the US endured the attacks even with the bitter cold and lack of proper clothes along with ammunition and supplies being scarce. With the combination of General George Patton's Third Army, Allied troops were able to push back Hitler's forces enough to stop his offensive attacks in the West. On the Eastern Front, the Soviet Union was launching continuous attacks through the summer of 1944 and made their way through Poland, the Eastern Europe, and the Balkan Peninsula.
