Son of George III and Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
Married Maria Fitzherbert on 15 September 1785 but had no children. Their marriage was not valid as it was conducted in Maria's Park Street drawing room without the prior approval of King George III and the Privy Council. Their relationship ended when George announced his intention to marry his cousin.
Married Caroline of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel on 8 April 1795 and had one daughter.
