There were two phases of Red Clydeside
The First was triggered in 1915 by confrontation between engineers and the Ministry of Munitions. As well as the rent strikes.
The second phase was after the war was over and returning men saw their jobs were under threat. Strikes and protests took place.
As a result the Clyde Workers Committee was formed (CWC).
