2000: The Federal EPA published new regulations on radium levels in drinking water.
2003: The state of Wisconsin required Waukesha to sign a consent order, agreeing to take "certain interim and permanent steps to achieve compliance with state radionuclide requirements" by December 8, 2006.
2003: The EPA placed an order to the city to alleviate the problem by 2018.
May 2010: Waukesha submitted its first application to the Wisconsin DNR for diversion of water.
Dec 9, 2015: The diversion application was granted preliminary approval by the WDNR.
Jan 7, 2016: The diversion application was forwarded to the council.
Jun 21, 2016: The council gave its final apporoval.
2020: Pipeline construction scheduled to begin.
