American marines landed on an island of iwo jima and we wanted to capture everyone and invade the island and it was thought to be done in 4 days. But what the us didn't know that was the Japanese had tunnels and areas to go to. But the marines would throw grenades and flamethrowers and the island finally fell in the end of march.
