28 feb 1869 año - 15th Amendment

Descripción:

The Fifteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibits the federal and state governments from denying a citizen the right to vote based on that citizen's "race, color, or previous condition of servitude". This was significant in that it not only finally gave African Americans the right to vote, but also allowed the most African Americans in history to be elected into public office for the first time in American history. The 15th Amendment relates to the Women's Suffrage Movement because both contributed to granting suffrage rights for minorities. It also influenced the Women's Suffrage Movement because Women were motivated to protest when African Americans were given the right to vote and they were not.
