Two Thousand Texan Troops, and a further five hundred cavalry, engage American forces stationed near Martin Lake, in the grasslands of Eastern Texas. The battle lasts two hours, and there are light casualties on either side, though it is concluded when cavalry brigades flank and capture the much larger force of nearly three thousand American soldiers.
