12 h 27 m, 15 agos 1915 año - Panama Canal (Completion)
Aug. 15th, 1915
Descripción:
The Panama Canal, constructed mostly by the U.S. government, was one of the greatest feats of engineering and planning to date. Spanning 48 miles long, 110 feet wide and 45 feet deep, the massive project took 10 years to build, but it changed the way transnational trade worked. It connected the Pacific and Atlantic oceans together, where previously the two could only be traveled around the horn of South America, which takes many more weeks and has notoriously rough seas.
