Democrat and advocate for world peace, Woodrow Wilson was the twenty-eighth president of the United States and led the US through World War I. Before obtaining the white house in 1912, Wilson was an University President and professor and Democratic governor of New Jersey. In office, Wilson a Federal trade commission and Reserve. Also during WWI, he tried to keep the US neutral, but called congress to declare war on Germany in 1917 because of the U-boat attacks. After the war, he negotiated a peace treaty and took part in the creation of the League of Nations, winning him a Nobel Peace Prize even though Senate denied US membership into the League.
