This convention took place in Philadelphia and it drew up an American Constitution(amending the Articles of Confederation) due to economic issues the led to political movements such as Shays Rebellion, this called for a stronger central government. All states except Rhode Island attended this convention and of 77 chosen 55 took part in the convention and only 39 of these chosen men signed the Constitution. Both the Virginia and New Jersey plans were introduced including different ideas concerning government and state control. Also regarding slaves 3/5ths compromise, allowed enslaved Africans to be counted as 3/5ths of person for population count and taxes.
