The Court reiterated that it had repeatedly found a violation of Article 3 ECHR regarding the administrative detention of foreign national children. Detention of children of four months to four years for periods of seven to eighteen days at the detention centres at Metz-Queuleu and Toulouse-Cornebarrieu.
A judge ruled that the presence of a seven-month-old baby in the Metz detention centre was illegal because it was "inhumane and degrading treatment." The baby was detained along with her parents, who were Albanian citizens living illegally in the country. The family was released from the detention centre, but the deportation order remained in place.
