14 oct 1676 año - Bacon's Rebellion
Descripción:
Former indentured servants typically moved into Indian territory after gaining their freedom. There was little to no land for now freed population to buy, and even if there was, these newly free men had no money to buy land with. Conflicts with Indians increased as a result, but the government refused to protect the former indentured servants. Nathaniel Bacon, an aspiring politician, saw the opportunity to propel himself into power. He organized the former indentured servants into an army and attacked Jamestown. Bacon died shortly after due to dysentery and the rebellion collapsed.
