2 mar 1807 año - US Bans Importation of Slaves
Descripción:
From the constitution, the slave trade was supposed to be ended. This happened according to plan, and with the slave trade ended, domestic affairs became more important. The value of a slave became higher because there was now only a finite amount of labor (However, many of the states had populations that were self-sufficient). This led to more advances in technology and other suitable methods that could replace slave labor, especially with things like cotton processing, a common cash crop. This increased demand for slaves, however, the supply was now harder to replenish due to the cut off slave trade. This shifted the notion of work in the US and reflected the nationalistic principles that were emerging during this period in American history.
