17 agos 1807 año - Clermont Steamboat
Descripción:
This was the first trip of the Clermont steamboat up the Hudson River. This was part of a deal brokered by Jefferson's minister to France in order to allow for French steamboat to be built and sailed along the Hudson. With relatively quick success, the steamboats soon became a monopolized institution. This event was crucial for work, technology, and exchange because it now allowed for materials, goods, and people to travel large distances faster and on a more regular scale. It also increased the production capabilities of the US significantly, and helped our industrial and manufacturing side to grow more.
