Born 1757 Died 1798: Fled to Greece for killing an Ottoman Empire Famous Figure, He also led a revolt against the Turks in the Greek War of Independence. Rigas, who had served a number of Phanariote hospodars in the Danubian principalities, spent part of the 1790s in Vienna.
