He used his famous gold foil experiment and came to the conclusions of all mass being centered in the middle of an atom, all positively charged particles are in the center of an atom, the charge of the nucleus is Z.e, negatively charged particles revolve around the positively charged, and that the nucleus is very small when you compare it to an atom.
