Description: Andrew Jackson was elected as president of the United States of America in 1828, where he ran against John Quincy Adams. He ran once in 1824, but lost due to the alleged “corrupt bargain”.
Causes: Many in the United States were tired of the elitist nature of many previous Presidents, and instead wanted a president that truly represented them (Age of the Common Man)
Impact: Andrew Jackson's election led to many decisions being made in the interest of the common people or lower class, leading to the Jacksonian Democracy.
