As messaging becomes the dominant means of online interaction, we can expect more communication performed by robots or smart social bots. Social bots that already exist are some like Siri and Google Now. It's thought that as they become cleverer they will understand the context of the information you are looking for, messaging from bots will naturally coexist with those from friends, family, and co-workers. You will soon be able to send a message to your smart home to turn on the heating or run a bath while you are out of the house.
