Gregory Johnson went up to the Dallas City Hall and burned the American flag with kerosene chanting "America, the red, white, and blue, we spit on you". Johnson was later arrested and sent to prison for one year for burning the flag. When he went to court, the judge ruled in favor of Johnson, saying that it was an expression of the first amendment and there shall be no defying the Bill of Rights.
