(AKA) Battle of Sharpsburg and was the bloodiest single day in american history. Robert E. Lee invaded the north and the union commander George McClellan was ready because he had found the battle plans. The plans were read and the Union ended up winning. After the victory Lincoln proclaimed that slaves from the south would be free.
