22 nov 1886 año - mid to late 19th century- Chinese, Japanese

Descripción:

Many of the immigrants came from 1900 to 1910. They had to have immigration hearing. While waiting to hear their results they had to wait in crowded houses.
Japan was starting to become industrialized, which made it hard to find jobs.
When they arrived they had to work as servants or in skilled trades, some created their own business. Many people left them out of their businesses, but a hard job was better than no job to them.
In 1882 the Chinese Exclusion act was meant to restrict Chinese immigrants, and didn’t allow the chinese already in the country to become citizens.
