Child Bed Fever, also known as Puerperal Fever was the most common cause of maternal death following childbirth.
it was First discovered in 1879 but Remains a major cause of maternal mortality today in developing areas. 15-20% of mothers in hospitals would die of Childbed Fever
Doctors during this time and did not want to be proved wrong, so many mothers died because of doctors arrogance.
The symptoms of this disease include; fever, headache, foul smell, vomiting, chills and abdominal tenderness.
