Jim marries Marceline Baldwin at the Trinity United Methodist Church in the nearby city of Indianapolis. Jim was 4 years Marceline's senior and her parents didn't approve of this. Jim however was able to convince them that he was a good man for their daughter. He would remain married to Marceline until his death.
