CMP publishes a key document: "NECEC Transmission Project: Benefits to Maine Ratepayers" This document was written for CMP by a former CMP marketing manager and energy consultant.

Massachusetts chooses the NH Northern Pass power line from Quebec to Massachusetts.
CMP and WMRC sign the Memorandum of Understanding. CMP agrees to pay $250,000 within 10 days, then $50,000 per year for 5 years. CMP will pay WMRC another $22 million if the CMP corridor project is completed.

CMP submits the application for the permits to construct the NECEC power line from the Canadian border to Massachusetts
Joseph Christopher, Director of the WMRC, sends a letter to Jim Beyers of Maine Department of Environmental Protection. Christoper states that: "The local environmental position is that the NECEC powerline needs to prefer the overhead solution to cross the Kennebec Gorge."
Maine Public Utilities Commission (MPUC) publishes their Examiners Report MPUC's Examiners Report takes guidance from CMP's WM&RC, stating on page 37 "WM&RC also asserts that the NECEC will likely provide lower wholesale market prices." When did WM&RC become an expert on wholesale electricity costs, and why would the MPUC take guidance from WM&RC on electricity prices?
