The Korean War (25 jun 1950 ano – 27 jul 1953 ano)
Descrição:
The Korean peninsula was split after the Second World War, as the Soviet Union controlled the North and the United States took the South. The peninsula had been in control by the Japanese, who had been one of the Axis powers during the war. Tensions in Korea were high, as the Cold War began between the Soviet Union and the United States, and soon things boiled over, and the North attacked the South, and the United States sprang into action in defense of the South, who were able to push back the North even when the war looked like it was going to end in defeat. The South had even pushed the North all the way up to the Chinese border, when China began to fight against the South. Soon, the North pushed the South back. The war ended in an armistice and the creation of the Korean Demilitarized Zone, which closely resemble the borders of the two countries before the war. Conflicts are still ongoing within the two nations, as people still try to flee to the South.
