The fall of Feudalism gave birth to the Rennaisance period. There were many factors that led to the decline of Feudalism. Among these were civil revolt, war and the Crusades, which exposed Europe to new ways of thinking. The black plague, which reduced the population by one third thereby making labor more valuable increased the standard of living for peasants who survived. Following the fall of Feudalism the age of the Renaissance emerged. This short time period is characterized by creativity and the birth and encouragement of ideas and new ways of thinking.
