The Townshend Acts (15 jun 1767 ano – 2 jul 1767 ano)

Descrição:

The Townshend Acts put taxes on glass, lead, paint, paper and tea. The Acts were named after Charles Townshend who introduced them. They put these taxes in place to help pay for expenses that were involved in governing the American colonies. The colonists boycotted the British goods in order for the sale of British goods to go down. These Acts were important because they got colonist mad which helped lead to the Boston Massacre.
