Pueblo I Period (1 jan 750 ano – 1 jan 900 ano)
Descrição:
After many decades of population growth, a sudden decline in population throughout much of the Mesa Verde area occurred at the very end of the Pueblo I century. The decline may have been associated with warmer and drier conditions which made corn growing difficult for the Pueblo farmers. Some people moved to higher elevation areas along the northern edge of the Mesa Verde region where more humidity was present. But many people appear to have left the area entirely. Where did they go? People moved to areas south of the Mesa Verde region according to Pueblo oral tradition.
