Even though the colonists suffered hardships, the colony became the first successfully settlement later on. After the Starving time and during John Smiths leaderships more colonist and supplies arrive helping them survive. In the movie it says the John Smith and Pocahontas had a relationship but Pocahontas married John rolfe. She was the first Native American to turn into christian and married a European. The colonist successful plantation on Jamestown was tobacco which became successful when sending it to their homeland. Jamestown suffered more hardships throughout the years like the Bacon's Rebellion and the attakcks of Native Americans. Native Americans also suffered by losing thier land to the colonists and soon becoming workers of plantion owners.
