1 jan 1765 ano - STAMP ACT PASSED
Descrição:
The stamp act was a direct tax act imposed by the British parliament in 1765 on the American colonists. The bill would require printed materials from the colonies to use London's special stamp paper with embossed stamp duty to pay taxes on printed paper. The bill was designed to pay British troops in North America after the war. The act further exacerbated the conflict between the British and North American colonies and intensified the tax revolt, which was eventually dropped in March 1766.
