0 h 16 m, 31 out 1800 ano - Election of 1800 Oct. 31st, 1800

Descrição:

The election of 1800, between candidates Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr was a very contentious, drawn out election. Jefferson was considered an anti-federalist, and Burr had very few clear stances on anything, and focused more on being a likeable character to win office, and surprisingly, it worked. The election was too close and the vote was moved to congress, where it had to be voted upon numerous times, ultimately selecting Jefferson as president, with the help of Alexander Hamilton's endorsement. Jefferson's election marked the first political party transition in the country and he stood for a decentralized government and the right of people to do as they please.
