16 dez 1773 ano - Tea Act
Descrição:
December 16, 1773. After the implementation of the Townsend act had restricted the consumption of tea in the colonies the British decided to respond with the reduction of the tea tax. The tea act reduced the tax on british imported tea, giving British merchants an unfair advantage in selling their tea in America. American colonists responded by boycotting tea. As tensions rose, colonists refused to pay taxes on tea that was sent over in British ships. A group of men organized and dumped all of the British tea into the harbor.
