After more than three years of combat, it is time for Brenna to leave. In secret, she gives Sandstorm her address, instructing him to write to her. In return, he tearfully tells her of his engagement to another Nishkan warrior, and he implores her to stay longer. They embrace, and she reveals to him that she has regarded him as her little brother. Then, he informs her that although is only two years younger than her, she has always seemed eons older than him. They exchange one last smile, and then Brenna departs Nishka.
