18 dez 1860 ano - Crittenden Compromise

Descrição:

December 18, 1860: The Crittenden Compromise, which ultimately failed, was designed to resolve the secession crisis. The plan Kentucky Senator John J. Crittenden had proposed would have made sure that slavery would always exist in the slave states. The Southerners supported it, but the Northerners, including Lincoln, had rebuffed it. If this compromise had succeeded, the war would have not happened because the Southerners would have been satisfied enough without having to secede.
