1 out 1856 ano - John Brown's raid

Descrição:

John Brown was an abolitionist. When proslavery settlers moved to Kansas violence started. There was looting and burning. This angered Brown and his sons, and they turned to violence. They attacked and killed a settler, then ran away and hid. He became like a ghost, scaring the proslavery settlers. They did not know where he was, or when he would show up. When he returned with a group, they murdered 5 settlers in Pottawatomie. It started a guerrilla war that took about 200 lives. The proslavery settlers believed this was a planned attack from the northerners and were angry.
