A minister, Ralph Goodale, who was responsible for Indian residential schools resolution, and leaders of the Anglican Church ratified an greement to compensate residential school students who had suffered from sexual and physical abuse. They all agreed goverment of Canada should pay up to $18 million, and the Anglican Church of Canada should pay up to $7 million.
