The apple of discord was the so-called 'war of the currents', given that Edison bet and spent fortunes on the sale and propagation of the direct current, while Tesla was a pioneer of alternating current. This confrontation ended in 2007 with the 'victory' of Tesla, when totally passing the city of New York to the alternating current
