Description:
Italian sculptor Giovanni Strazza created The Veiled Virgin sometime in the 1850's while he was working in Rome. It depicts the Vigin Mary with a veil over her head using realistically rendered features. Made out of Carrara marble, this was believed to be by many a work of devotion and has called Canada home since 1856.Added to timeline:
