Baroque Sculpture (jan 1, 1600 – jan 1, 1700)
Description:
Due to the Protestant Reformation, The Roman Catholic Church launched its own "Counter Reformation". With this counter reformation, worshippers were persuaded to return to the one "true" Church through a full panoply of the visual arts, including architecture, sculpture and painting where they were seen as more majestically built. This propaganda campaign would come to be associated with a more grand and dramatic name, known as Baroque art.
